Singapore Roots, Global Reach

After leaving the first Magic Circle firm to operate in Singapore, our founding partners established our firm in 1986. Since then, our firm’s founders and partners have made a name for themselves in their various fields. In particular, Ms Molly Lim, SC was appointed in 1998 as one of the first three female Senior Counsel in Singapore and Mr Sunny Wong has been named as a leading banking and finance lawyer in Singapore. The firm has gone from strength to strength under the stewardship of Joint Managing Directors Ms Ong Beng Hong and Mr Philip Ling, who have succeeded our founders and now head the firm’s Corporate Department and Dispute Resolution Department, respectively.

We offer a comprehensive range of legal services to clients with international and local business interests. Our firm focuses primarily on banking and finance, mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, general corporate and commercial law, on-shore representation for foreign corporations, corporate and commercial litigation, arbitration, mediation and other forms of dispute resolution.

From our inception, we have been true to our Singapore roots as we continue to maintain and grow our ties with international clients and partners alike. We work frequently with international law firms as well as directly with multinational corporations and Fortune 500 companies, particularly on international transactions with an Asian involvement. Our disputes practice advises on and represents clients in complex commercial disputes which regularly feature cross-border elements. We have also established working relationships with a network of lawyers across Asia following many cross-border and international transactions and disputes. Our strong international ties culminated in a formal law alliance with Watson Farley & Williams LLP in 2017. The alliance is known as WFW & WTL.
